ABOUT EMILY

I'm not looking to be a politician; I aim to be a dedicated representative for those who want a voice but may not have the time.

My Commitment to My Community

Golden is more than just where I live; it's my forever home and a community I deeply cherish. After exploring over 30 countries around the world, visiting much of the United States, and living in Colorado going on eight years, I can confidently say there's no other place I'd rather be. When I first came to Golden nearly five years ago, I felt an unparalleled sense of belonging, a strong sense of community, warmth of neighbors, stunning natural surroundings, and abundant outdoor activities. This led me to purchase a home here. As I approach my fourth year as a Golden homeowner, my commitment to this city only grows. I am dedicated to serving the Golden of today, while fiercely protecting the traditions, values, and unique character that make Golden, Golden.

Leadership, Transparency, and a Listening Ear

I bring a unique blend of enthusiasm, passion, and a genuine listening ear to the table. I am committed to representing and serving the community, ensuring Golden's present thrives while safeguarding its culture and identity for the future. Transparency and integrity are core to my approach; you can always bet that I will be authentically myself and wear my heart on my sleeve.

Experience Driving Results

With 10 years of experience in the technology sector, my focus on business strategy and operations has equipped me with valuable leadership and business skills. I have a proven track record of rolling out new initiatives smoothly, leading global teams through shifting business climates, and providing data-driven results on budget and on time. The approach I take to these initiatives combines enthusiasm, efficiency, pragmatism, and ensures the thousands of customers and employees who are affected feel heard, supported, and actions are taken with their best interests in mind. My goal is to bring these skills to city council.

Dedicated Community Service

I am in my third year on Golden’s Planning Commission and am in my second term as Chair. I've also dedicated over a year to a subcommittee focused on sustainability building code recommendations, a collaborative process involving the Planning Commission and the Community Sustainability Advisory Board. Beyond public service with the city, my commitment to the community  includes regularly fostering dogs and cats through Foothills Animal Shelter and recently joining the League of Women Voters, where I look forward to deeper involvement.

Golden's Outdoors and Community Spirit

An avid outdoor enthusiast, I have been rock climbing for over a decade and can often be found enjoying the routes in Clear Creek Canyon. When not climbing, I enjoy fly fishing or hiking in the area, sometimes with my adopted Australian Shepherd, Fern. Away from the trails, I find joy in travel, painting, playing board games, experiencing live music, and attending Golden's vibrant community events. I look forward to attending the Golden Fine Arts festival every year!
